Introduction

Hackachusetts is about turning ambitious ideas into working solutions. Participants are encouraged to use the tools, platforms, APIs, datasets, and AI models that best help them build within their chosen challenge track.

Resources from Hackachusetts partners will be available throughout the event. Focus on solving a meaningful problem, building something functional, and creating a project you can clearly demonstrate by the submission deadline.

Tools and Technologies

Participants are welcome to use the technologies that best fit their project, including AI models, APIs, cloud platforms, open-source libraries, development frameworks, datasets, and hardware.

Kiro: Participants who are vibe coding must use Kiro for their Hackachusetts project. Amazon's Kiro team will provide 2,000 free Kiro credits to participants in person on the day of the event.

AWS: Participants are encouraged to take advantage of AWS services and cloud infrastructure where useful for their projects.

Additional tools, credits, datasets, and technical resources provided by Hackachusetts partners will be shared with participants as they become available.

Inspiration

Start with a real problem, not just a technology.

Think about challenges in Biotech & Healthcare, Robotics & Hardware, Energy & Climate Tech, or Civic Action where AI could create meaningful impact.

Ask yourself: Who experiences this problem? Why does it matter? What is missing from existing solutions? How can AI meaningfully improve the solution? What can your team realistically build and demonstrate in one day?

You don't need to solve an entire industry problem. Build a focused solution that works, demonstrates a clear idea, and has the potential to grow beyond Hackachusetts.
